What's up with this sensor?

The sensor device you see mounted in your area is collecting temperature and humidity measurements as part of a scientific effort to understand where it is hotter and cooler across your neighborhood. The low-cost sensor collects only readings of temperature and humidity; this device does not collect any audio or video recordings.

This project is a part of a broader partnership between the Center for Regenerative Solutions, CAPA Strategies, and a local team of community members and partners .

To find out more about the sensors being used, see the product pages for the temperature sensor and radiation shield

The data collected will be used to understand how heat varies across different land uses within urban environments. Monitoring these variations for four to six weeks will help to measure how different weather patterns affect heat.
