Vivek brings over two decades of environmental and climate science experience to support CAPA's strategic direction as an advisor. As a researcher and educator, Vivek's volunteer role at CAPA is the result of his passion and drive to see a more equitable world that draws on sound evidence and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. He has published over 100 scientific publications, four books, and his work has appeared in the NYTimes, National Geographic, Scientific American, Times of India, Le Monde, Volkskrant , CNN and other international and national media. During his spare time Vivek serves as the Chair of the City of Portland's Urban Forestry Commission, and revels in the mountains and waters of the Pacific Northwest.
